Aggregate Crushing Value (ACV) testing is a method used to determine the strength of coarse aggregates. In this test, a sample of the aggregate is subjected to a specified load and then crushed to determine its resistance to crushing. The ACV is calculated by dividing the mass of the crushed material by the original mass of the sample and multiplying by 100. This value provides an indication of the aggregate's ability to withstand crushing under a compressive load and is used in assessing the suitability of aggregates for use in construction projects, such as road surfaces and concrete mixes.
